Same same but different

I came across this amazing surf photo today and it was a great reminder of how varied a sport can be. Surfing, skiing, climbing – they all share the idea that you can participate at so many different levels that the high end vs. the low end doesn’t even resemble the same sport. That’s what I love about outdoor sport – even though all of us fit somewhere into a vast line of experience and expertise – we are all doing the same thing. All of us are after that moment of freedom where it feels like we can fly. Forget about pre-conceived notions of expectation and remember the pure joy of doing what we love to do.
